The mission of Twin Oaks Elementary, a Leader in Me Lighthouse School, is to challenge all students to develop their unique potential, become life-long learners, and value their community through a school distinguished by:

  • Each student will meet or exceed his/her personal growth target in reading and math annually

Strategy 1: We will create student growth through engaging, relevant, and challenging learning experiences.
  • Individual student needs are met through differentiated instruction
  • Implement Guided language Acquisition Design (GLAD) strategies in all classrooms to ensure differentiated and common core aligned instruction and learning for all students.
  • We will ensure that all students have access to consistent, viable, and rich writing instruction across the content areas.
  • Students and their families will have equitable access to the Student Study Team Process.
  • Continue to grow and sustain a culture of personal leadership through the implementation of The Leader in Me.
Strategy 2: We will develop a comprehensive technology plan to support effective instruction and learning.
  • All staff and students will have equitable access to digital technology.
  • All staff and students will have adequate and ongoing technology training.
  • We will prepare our students for the 21st century through implementation of a digital curriculum.
  • Funds will be allocated to support ongoing technology support and replacement.
  • Staff will use a digital form of communication with all staff and parents in our school community.
Strategy 3: We will align systems of communication to improve efficiency.
  • Implement an effective communication system to improve efficiency.
  • Establish a comprehensive, web-based presence.
  • Ensure consistent and frequent information to our students and parents.
